Our products are hand made in the USA.

The art of casting, also refered to as embedments, consists of pouring a liquified acrylic and/or lucite into a custom mold and at the exact right moment, placing desired objects into the acrylic compound. The mold is then cured and the liquid hardens.  We offer a variety of styles to choose from and can customize an order to suit your needs.

Embedments, also called tombstones, have been used thoughout history by corporations to announce a stock offering or a business merger or venture. They are tombstones because they are full of information regarding an event and virtually last forever. In some cases a business may opt to reproduce a stock certificate and embed it in acrylic. Goldminers used these tombstones to secure their goldmine rights.  A construction company might also commemorating a ground opening by embeding a stone or acetate with information regarding the event and including a small metal shovel. The possibilities are left to your imagination. We recommend that you contact us with your idea to discuss the possibilities for your project.

The manufacturing of acrylic embedments began shortly after World War II. It has remained one of the best kept manufacturing secrets, handed down through trusted associates. Because of the tremendous technical knowledge required, the total number of actual manufacturers remains very small.

Acrylic is a high quality product. The versatility of acrylic allows it to be custom designed into a variety of shapes and sizes, incorporating many different types of embedded elements. Due to chemical reactions during the process however, not everything can be embedded.  Also, due to the fact that all our embedded objects are placed by hand, no two acrylic embedments are ever 100% alike, even if the items and molds are identical in shape. Please be sure to review our guarantee and limitations page before ordering.

Variations occur in this sizing process since it is also all done by hand. Sizing starts after the mold is fully cured and the acrylic is suffiently hardened.

Polishing is the next and final step in the process. It is also done entirely by hand. This brings out the luster and high gloss of the acrylic not previously seen during production. A rough buffing is administered to remove all sanding lines and a final polishing then brings out the bright crystal-like finish.
